- Do I have to be a Episcopalian — or Christian — to come?
- What is an ‘Episcopalian’? Are ‘Episcopalians’ the same as ‘Anglicans’?”>What should I wear
- How should I ask this…. Are you diverse, or pretty much mostly WASSPs (White Anglo-Saxon Straight Protestants)?
- How much does dinner (or this/that event) cost?
No. When we say ‘all are welcome,’ we mean it. We are a Christian/Episcopalian chaplaincy, but we’re grateful for all who come to enrich our community. We don’t have a doctrinal litmus test and we won’t check your orthodoxy at the door. Come, seek with us — whoever, wherever you are.
Use appropriate discretion (i.e., wear a shirt), but we’re an informal bunch. Come as you are — t-shirt, shorts, sandals, mohawk, polo shirt, piercings, docksiders, ice in your grill. You get the picture.
How should I ask this…. Are you diverse or pretty much mostly WASSPs (White Anglo-Saxon Straight Protestants)?
We are and strive to be diverse and welcoming of all — even WASSPs. People from an array of racial, socio-economic, geographic, religious, political, and cultural backgrounds make up ECM. We welcome you — whoever, wherever you are — to join us and enhance our diverse community.
Our home-cooked meals following the Eucharist on Sunday are usually FREE. From time to time, we may collect a small donation to offset costs (e.g., if we get pizza), but don’t let your sparse funds keep you from coming.
Most activities and events at ECM are also FREE to students. Once again, sometimes we’ll collect a small fee to offset costs of a particular activity/event — and if/when we need to collect a fee we’ll let you know. However, if you’re interested in participating but just can’t afford it, contact Rev. Adrienne at firstname.lastname@example.org.
